Another Way To Think About The Value of Art

I have just returned from Seattle where I spent a couple of hours in the mind blowing exhibits of Dale Chihuly, the artist who has redefined what is possible in the medium of glass. The permanent exhibition of the Garden and Glass museum is stunning. As I wandered through it I thought about how inspirational it is to see the “best.” While art, music, and the performing arts often seemed to be scrapped as the economy falters, the one unknown is what kind of impression good art makes in helping our own creativity blossom, and of course the payoffs for that.

Poking my head in the theatre complex I caught the part of the film talking about how a Chihuly exhibit in Jerusalem had attracted over a million Israelis and Palestinians. For what ever their differences the power of the art seemed seemed to set aside those differences for a higher calling.

I remember being in a seminar with Terence Mckenna once in which he was paraphrasing Plato’s observations that truth, beauty and goodness were one in the same. From Terence’s point of view, truth and beauty were difficult to determine, but beauty seemed to be apparent . So perhaps art at some cellular level connects with archetypal patterns that are part of our deeper wisdom. Sure seems like we could use that today.

I certainly felt better for having been immersed in this display.

If You Know Anyone Who Has Cancer Please Read And Pass On

By Sandy Sims / September 18, 2012
Subject: Shocking Cancer Information…worth reading…
Written by a doctor who suffers from cancer and he uses alternative rather than conventional medicine that involves chemo, etc.
Good to share with family and friends.

Subject:
Cancer treatment is about making money… - provoking thoughts
I posted this article, which may have some provoking thoughts:The below is absolutely 100% true and as a doctor I have been telling people this for 15 years now. No one wants to listen. Folks need to wake up. Cancer treatment is about making money. It is a 120 billion dollar a year industry in the United States alone and estimated to be a 600 billion dollar a year industry worldwide.

A successful cancer case according to the American Cancer Society and the American College of Oncology and Hematology means that the person survives for 5 years. Both the American Cancer Society and the American College of Oncology and Hematology admit that a person is likely to survive cancer for 7 to 10 years even if they do absolutely NOTHING. Of course, only the doctors get those magazines – not you, the cancer patient.

Alternative medicine’s track record of curing cancer is 10 times higher than that of conventional medicine. Note that I say CURE.

Remember another thing. A TUMOR is just a symptom. It is not the cause of cancer.

Science is cause and effect. Remove the cause and the effect disappears.

I am in my third battle with cancer right now. I have not done any chemotherapy or radiation or surgery for any of my bouts with cancer. I survived leukemia, I survived Non Hodgkins Lymphoma and now I have Glioblastoma which is supposedly an incurable form of brain cancer. I was given two months to live 5 months ago.

I have been using Chinese herbs, high doses of vitamin C, acupuncture, chiropractic, homeopathy and nutritional changes. Yes, at first it got worse. It had metastasized to my lymph nodes, my lungs and my bones. As of this week, I am happy to say that there is no evidence now of any cancer in my lymph system or my bones. I had 6 tumors in my lungs, now there are only two. The tumors in my brain have shrunken tremendously. I never did any of their chemo, radiation or surgery.

Here is a very interesting statistic that you can only have access to by being a doctor. Every year more than 1,000 doctors oncologists (cancer doctors) are diagnosed with cancer. Less than 10% of them choose to do the treatment that they have been giving to their patients. Sort of like the fact that less than 25% of all pediatricians vaccinate their own children because of the fact that the risk of sudden death or serious side effects from the vaccination is higher than the risk of catching the disease one is being vaccinated for. This is not bullshit, people – it is truth.

Medicine is about money, not about your health and the system that traps people, especially the elderly, disabled and poor into a deadly treatment regime that puts them in an early grave. Meanwhile, all the jet set billionaires are flying off to Europe and paying big bucks for alternative treatments and getting cured.

Does alternative medicine work all the time? No. Of course not. Nothing works all the time. But there is a reason for that. You don’t die until it’s your time to die. Nothing can make you live longer than that time.

However quality of life comes into play. Those cancer patients who use alternative therapies for their cancer, yet still die from the illness, suffer a much higher quality of life. They die able to spend time with their families and even recognize their family members. They don’t become emaciated like those who do chemotherapy or radiation do and rarely is a person who goes under the treatment of chemotherapy able to recognize anyone for the last few days of their lives. Their bodies become ravaged to the point that you can’t even recognize them either. They suffer at a much much higher rate and they have one let down after another as doctors tell them, ahhh – it’s looking good, only to tell them on the next visit it’s looking worse, you need more chemo and radiation.

What is criminal about this is that YOUR DOCTORS KNOW THIS SHIT.

I took an oath as a physician. I have always followed it. That has certainly not made me successful financially as a doctor because I have consistently refused to go along with conventional medicine’s bullshit.

Read the below carefully. It may indeed make a difference in your life.

Rick Cantrell, PhD, MD, PsyD

ALLELUJIA DR. CANTRELL, I AM 101% WITH YOU.

AFTER YEARS OF TELLING PEOPLE CHEMOTHERAPY IS THE ONLY WAY TO TRY (‘TRY’, BEING THE KEY WORD) TO ELIMINATE CANCER, JOHNS HOPKINS IS FINALLY STARTING TO TELL YOU THERE IS AN ALTERNATIVE WAY .

Cancer Update from Johns Hopkins :

1. Every person has cancer cells in the body. These cancer
cells do not show up in the standard tests until they have
multiplied to a few billion. When doctors tell cancer patients
that there are no more cancer cells in their bodies after
treatment, it just means the tests are unable to detect the
cancer cells because they have not reached the detectable
size.

2. Cancer cells occur between 6 to more than 10 times in a
person’s lifetime.

3. When the person’s immune system is strong, the cancer
cells will be destroyed and prevented from multiplying and
forming tumors.

4. When a person has cancer it indicates the person has
nutritional deficiencies. These could be due to genetic,
but also to environmental, food and lifestyle factors.

5. To overcome the multiple nutritional deficiencies, changing
diet to eat more adequately and healthy, 4-5 times/day
and by including supplements will strengthen the immune
system.

6. Chemotherapy involves poisoning the rapidly-growing
cancer cells and also destroys rapidly-growing healthy cells
in the bone marrow, gastrointestinal tract, etc., and can
cause organ damage, like liver, kidneys, heart, lungs, etc.

7. Radiation while destroying cancer cells also burns, scars
and damages healthy cells, tissues and organs.

8. Initial treatment with chemotherapy and radiation will often
reduce tumor size. However prolonged use of
chemotherapy and radiation do not result in more tumor
destruction.

9. When the body has too much toxic burden from
chemotherapy and radiation, the immune system is either
compromised or destroyed; hence the person can succumb
to various kinds of infections and complications.

10. Chemotherapy and radiation can cause cancer cells to
mutate and become resistant and difficult to destroy.
Surgery can also cause cancer cells to spread to other
sites.

11. An effective way to battle cancer is to starve the cancer
cells by not feeding it with the foods it needs to multiply.

*CANCER CELLS FEED ON:-

a. Sugar substitutes like NutraSweet, Equal, Spoonful, etc. which are made with Aspartame and it is harmful. A better natural
substitute would be Manuka honey or molasses, but only in
very small amounts. Table salt has a chemical added to make
it white in color. Better alternative is Bragg’s aminos or sea
salt.

B. Milk causes the body to produce mucus, especially in the
gastro-intestinal tract. Cancer feeds on mucus. By cutting
off milk and substituting with unsweetened soy milk, cancer
cells are being starved.

c. Cancer cells thrive in an acid environment. A meat-based
diet is acidic and it is best to eat fish, and a little other
meat, like chicken. Meat also contains livestock
antibiotics, growth hormones and parasites, which are all
harmful, especially to people with cancer.

d. A diet made of 80% fresh vegetables and juice, whole
grains, seeds, nuts and a little fruit helps put the body into
an alkaline environment. About 20% can be from cooked
food including beans. Fresh vegetable juices provide live
enzymes that are easily absorbed and reach down to
cellular levels within 15 minutes to nourish and enhance
growth of healthy cells. To obtain live enzymes for building
healthy cells, try and drink fresh vegetable juice (most
vegetables including bean sprouts) and eat some raw
vegetables 2 or 3 times a day. Enzymes are destroyed at
temperatures of 104 degrees F. (40 degrees C.).

e. Avoid coffee, tea, and chocolate, which have high
caffeine. Green tea is a better alternative and has cancer
fighting properties. Water – best to drink purified water, or
filtered, to avoid known toxins and heavy metals in tap
water. Distilled water is acidic, avoid it.

12. Meat protein is difficult to digest and requires a lot of
digestive enzymes. Undigested meat remaining in the
intestines becomes putrefied and leads to more toxic
buildup.

13. Cancer cell walls have a tough protein covering. By refraining from or eating less meat, it frees more
enzymes to attack the protein walls of cancer cells and
allows the body’s killer cells to destroy the cancer cells.

14. Some supplements build up the immune system
(IP6, Flor-ssence, Essiac, anti-oxidants, vitamins, minerals,
EFAs etc.) to enable the bodies own killer cells to destroy
cancer cells. Other supplements like vitamin E are known
to cause apoptosis, or programmed cell death, the body’s
normal method of disposing of damaged, unwanted, or
unneeded cells.

15. Cancer is a disease of the mind, body, and spirit.
A proactive and positive spirit will help the cancer warrior
be a survivor. Anger, un-forgiveness and bitterness put
the body into a stressful and acidic environment. Learn to
have a loving and forgiving spirit. Learn to relax and enjoy
life.

16. Cancer cells cannot thrive in an oxygenated environment.
Exercising daily, and deep breathing help to get more
oxygen down to the cellular level. Oxygen therapy is
another means employed to destroy cancer cells.

1. No plastic containers in microwave.

2. No water bottles in freezer.

3. No plastic wrap in microwave.

Johns Hopkins has recently sent this out in its newsletters. This information is being circulated at Walter Reed Army Medical Center as well. Dioxin chemicals cause cancer, especially breast cancer. Dioxins are highly poisonous to the cells of our bodies. Don’t freeze your plastic bottles with water in them as this releases dioxins from the plastic. Recently, Dr Edward Fujimoto, Wellness Program Manager at Castle Hospital, was on a TV program to explain this health hazard. He talked about dioxins and how bad they are for us. He said that we should not be heating our food in the microwave using plastic containers. This especially applies to foods that contain fat. He said that the combination of fat, high heat, and plastics releases dioxin into the food and ultimately into the cells of the body. Instead, he recommends using glass, such as Corning Ware, Pyrex or ceramic containers for heating food. You get the same results, only without the dioxin. So such things as TV dinners, instant ramen and soups, etc., should be removed from the container and heated in something else. Paper isn’t bad but you don’t know what is in the paper. It’s just safer to use tempered glass, Corning Ware, etc. He reminded us that a while ago some of the fast food restaurants moved away from the foam containers to paper. The dioxin problem is one of the reasons.

Please share this with your whole email list…………………….

Also, he pointed out that plastic wrap, such as Saran Wrap, is just as dangerous when placed over foods to be cooked in the microwave. As the food is nuked, the high heat causes poisonous toxins to actually melt out of the plastic wrap and drip into the food. Cover food with a paper towel instead.

This is an article that should be sent to anyone important in your life.

How Those Invisible Partners Can Save The Day

By Sandy Sims / August 18, 2012

I always try to go to the airport early, sometimes a couple of hours early so as to have time for the unforeseen. It came in spades. I was coming up to Seattle, the Emerald City, to celebrate my birthday. Also Seattle is in technicolor for two months out of the year and this is one of them. However, when I got to the San Francisco airport this picture gives you an idea of the the total chaos. The main computer was down so nobody could get a boarding pass. I had had an hour buffer so was hopeful in the beginning, but that soon evaporated. I realized it might turn out to be a long long wait to finally get a flight. Slowly the counter began to process people. The lines were snaking back and forth and I was calculating that I was an hour, perhaps longer, no real chance. I had an I phone and was trying to access my flight info to see if I could get a bar code boarding pass. No luck but I did have my record locator. For some reason I stuck my phone up in the air and pointed to it. A counter attendant saw me and waived me through the snaking line, perhaps thinking I had my bar code boarding pass and just needed to check my bag. I gave her the phone. She quickly accessed some magic screen on her computer, pushed a button, gave me a boarding pass and took my bag. Next was the other ordeal we all know so well, the TSA gauntlet, but I had forward momentum. Disheveled but determined I scampered to my plane just as my section was being called to board.

In one sense you could say there was nothing remarkable about this “break.” They happen to us all, all of the time. As you know I have been writing about how I like to think we have a partnership, a camp of followers on the other side, whose job it is to help move us along in certain directions. I like to believe that when we recognize this, we strengthen the connection, and the process occurs more frequently. In that sense we are in the flow. I don’t believe there are any definitive studies on this so we are gathering the data as we go, and in blogs like this we can share the info.

Are events like this happening for you? I would love to hear.

Why Are So Few Paying Attention To These Crop Circles?

By Sandy Sims / July 18, 2012

I know this is a bit tongue and cheek, and no doubt lots of crop circles are made by people with planks, some openly taking credit for them. But a large number of them simply defy any logical explanation. I find so many people even those living in the heartland of Wiltshire, willing to accept the idea that these are all made by people. I can say one thing definitely. I would like to meet the people responsible for some of the complex patterns. I used to run an ad agency and anybody familiar with design knows that even with a perfect design, how to actually get it made on the ground would be a logistical feat, and in some cases, pure genius. not to mention the complication of doing it at night. Many of these patterns are extremely large. We are talking in the hundreds of yards.

So what’s the answer? I think you will find that those following the phenomena seriously have come to the conclusion that for some of the designs, “we just don’t know.”

People usually don’t want to think about things that are unexplainable. In a way it interferes with everyday life. I say it is good to be curious, to ask the questions of who and why. By engaging in the process we begin to attract the answers: maybe not right away but we have put the process into play, and if enough of us do it with intent then we may all be surprised. The very act of being drawn in this direction may in itself a form of communication that we simply do not understand. Yet, but may be be a higher intelligence gently drawing us towards something we need to find out about.

For example if you want to see one explanation go to this site on You tube. You will find the light balls fascinating.

More on 2012 Crop Circles

By Sandy Sims / July 11, 2012

On our way back from Oxford to Wiltshire just off the M-4, was this formation. It took us a bit of navigating to find our way. We finally found it in a very flat field. It was quite large and on the ground almost impossible to tell what you were in. Yet walking inside spending time just being quiet was well worth it. One school of thought is that these designs resonate with patterns deep in our psyche. So we can receive the benefit by looking at them and or walking amongst them gathering the energy. Amazingly we were the only ones there. This image was taken from crop circle connector.

Later in the afternoon we were lucky enough to catch the sun shine and walk into this site. It had been mowed on the inside by the farmer as many of them are, but the energy is still there and as my microlight pilot showed me the ground can provide a ghost image the next year with a different crop. It seems that the new crop in the ghosted area has more vitality. I took this shot from the air while in the microlight. The shot on the left was also taken and right in the same area. more to come.

Why The Crop Circles Make Such Perfect Sense

Silbury Hill

Once you have started to seriously look at these designs and then hear the rationale for how they could have been made- by human means in the dark of the night, perfectly without any error you do question humans making them all, especially since many of the designs are so complex and many on over an acre.

From another point of view perhaps it doesn’t matter. They are exquisite aesthetically. Whether they are instantly created by some other force or they are made by people who somehow feel compelled to do it, the ultimate influencing source, you may argue, is responsible for it either way.

To me the circles represent communication from a higher intelligence gently and benignly expressing itself in a way we have not completely pieced together. It could be like a jig saw puzzle where every year pieces get added, and ultimately we will get the overall meaning.

These incredibly beautiful and often unbelievably complex formations have not created any panic in the public, nor have they received any really serious press. Perhaps it is because the press requires neat and tidy stories, which these designs do not offer. So why I say they make such perfect sense is that a higher form of intelligence would like to communicate in a way that draws the curious and does not panic the rest. That seems to be the case.

Aerial crop circle at Silbury Hill 2012

England is wet and chilly, but exhilarating. I have come to Avebury in Wiltshire and the first circle found is opposite Silbury hill: it is famous for being the largest manmade hill in Europe. Every year for some unexplainable reason, the majority of circles have appeared in this Wiltshire region.

On the ground you really can’t discern the design but you can experience the “energy of the field.” I carefully walked into this simple but beautiful design, and sat down. There was no dramatic experience but a feeling of connectedness and serenity: my first contact had been made.

More circles will appear and I hope to get to them.

Frank Lloyd Wright Dejavu

Lewis “Spring” house Tallahassee by Frank Lloyd Wright

I am on the road now and visiting the town I grew up in, Tallahassee. Today with Billy Gwynn I am standing in front of the Lewis house here in Tallahassee. It is abandoned and in total disrepair. How sad. Billy and I grew up together and had the privilege of building an original Frank Lloyd Wright designed home. We built it in Kamuela on the Island of Hawaii and it gave me a wonderful adventure, not one so much of ownership, but of the fascinating people and experiences surrounding this process. I write about the entire process in “How Frank Lloyd Wright Got Into My Head Under My Skin And Changed The Way I Think About Thinking.”

Today there is a bit of sadness in seeing this great work of art in such a state. I read about now how collectable art is now selling for huge sums and yet the art form of our greatest architects sometimes just languishes. It is one of the great disconnects. Perhaps because it is an art form that requires constant attention, that requirement alone, diminishes all value beyond the utilitarian aspects.

From the ashes a “Pheonix” often rises. I ponder on what could happen here.

Seeking Pleasant Surprises

By Sandy Sims / February 21, 2012

stained glass windows of Chartres Cathedral

I went on a whirlwind four day trip to leave some of my mom’s ashes in her favorite city, Paris. I am traveling a lot these days and one exercise I find extremely useful and rewarding is to seek pleasant surprises and acknowledge them as they occur. A pleasant surprise is just that. Of course I like to think that we have invisible partners that arrange them, but this is just my belief system.

You don’t think about going to Paris in the Winter, but when the sun shines it can be quite pleasant with a warm coat, hat, gloves, and scarf. My first pleasant surprise came when the adjacent seat in coach, which I refer to as sardine class, was the only empty seat that I could see on the entire plane. Being able to stretch out just a little bit is a god send on a 10 hour plus flight.

I was traveling with Larry Hauer and Jeannie Smiley. They had made this trip before so much of the ground work had been done. Our boutique three star hotel, the Villa Martin, in the 10th district was another pleasant surprise. It was but a short walk from the magnificent Gare du l’Est. train station. The small room and bath was modern, clever, inviting and simply well thought out, especially the lighting. The staff of young women all spoke English and best of all the smile was a permanent condition of their faces.

On a short trip if you master the subway, you can sample a wide range of Parisian delights. Drawn to sacred geometry I had always wanted to see the Rose windows of the Cathedral at Chartres, We did. I was not disappointed. Hoping on the subway in minutes we were at the mus’ee de Orsay, one of the most inviting and tasteful buildings on the planet. It is a converted train station whose architectural elements accentuate the exquisite art deco, impressionist and art noveau treasures it houses. The cafe there is a must, a feast for both the eyes and the palette.

A cruise on the Seine, expressos at the myriad of sidewalk bistros, and a stroll through Monmarte. I could go on, but you get the drift. Few cities can give you day for day what Paris can. It is one big pleasant surprise.

Decision Making –Finding Ways To Connect With Your Subconscious

consciousness emerging from the subconscious

As I have been writing about in these blogs, we are all on a fast track to learning how to have more confidence in our intuition and how to connect with our subconscious. As our decision making begins to require more “gut” calls, how do we build confidence in this territory?

Our subconscious seems to be connected to what is popularly now referred to as “The Field, ” which can be thought of as a repository for what consciousness by the species is learning. Rupert Sheldrake, an eminent biologist has gained much attention on his reporting of how animals seem to be able to anticipate the movements of their masters or seem to be able know how to perform certain tasks once a certain number of their species learns how to do this task. Lyall Watson, also an eminent biologist, had coined the last phenomena, the 100th monkey syndrome.

Essentially our link with our subconscious seems to be our link to a collective source of wisdom and interactive guidance, to which we are learning to accept with more and more confidence daily. In one sense we can think of our subconscious as being the portal into source which is not just a repository of information but is proactive and interactive as well. For example where does a truly original idea come from and who sent it? I liked to think in terms of having invisible partners as a moniker I can attribute to this kind of transaction and it is one that gives me personal comfort. I like to think we have partners in the invisible realms just as real as the partners we have in daily lives. I may not understand the mechanics or location or relationships, but it helps me give phenomena a useful perspective.

One of the tricky parts of this communication is trying to be sure that it is our subconscious we are connecting with rather than just our conscious desires overriding this process and confusing us. This is particularly critical when we have big decisions and feel like we have a lot riding on it. Do we take the job in a new environment? Do we take on a huge financial obligation?

Synchronicities( meaningful coincidences), both positive and negative are guides, but sometimes those may not be present. I have mentioned muscle testing as another form of connecting. There are other ways also. Each person has to find a comfortable way to navigate. Sometimes I use a pendulum to get in touch with my subconscious. It is a simple weight on a string that you can hold and by asking yourself “yes” or “no” questions with your eyes closed you can after a lapse of ten or fifteen seconds see which way the pendulum is moving. It is either moving clockwise or counterclockwise. You can ask your self to see a “Yes,” usually a clockwise motion and a “No,” usually a counterclockwise motion. The whole idea is to confidently find aids to help make this connection.

I think one of the best things to do is to keep a pendulum and use it to ask simple questions for which you know the answer . For example state an incorrect name for yourself. See which way the pendulum goes. Do this for other obvious situations. Then when you ask the truly unknown you can have a measure of confidence in the answers you receive from yourself. I believe this is one way to improve our decision making as we enter the realms of the intuitive and subconscious.
